Flat River
Lowell, MI
Take: Smallmouth (4)

Moved down to the Mill Pond. Didn’t get much fishing in as the mosquitos have gone wild in the hatch and my arms not look like dinner to them. In the short time I did manage to stir up a 14″ smallmouth on a green/clear cho shad. Quite a few nice bass rolling in the shad tonight but it wasnt worth being dinner.

Flat River
Lowell, MI
Take: Rock Bass (64,65,66,67), Smallmouth (53)

Fished in Lowell on the mill pond tonight. The weeds are getting thick and the water low. The temperature is beginning to cool through, and the water is reflecting that. Caught 2 little rock bass (6″,7″) under the railroad tressle. Caouldn’t stir anything up in the thick of the weeds so I moved down the barrel stream to the tressle and caught a smallmouth (9″) and another rock bass (7″). Moving up the island stream I found one more rock bass (8″) in the center behind the rock pile.

Caught a bunch of rock bass in lowell tonight. (7″,6″,8″,7″,6″,8″,8″,7″,7″,5″). Fishing with a firetiger cho, caught the first six under the pier from upstream on the wall. Caught the next two from direct upstream of the end of the pier. Caught the next two down from the open dam fishing the current’s edge and the last one off the end of the pier again. Fun night. Nothing with any size, but fun nonetheless.

Flat River
Lowell, MI
Take: Northern Pike (6), Rock Bass (25,26,27,28), Smallmouth (43,44)

Fished the mill pond this evening. Caught a northern pike (8″) on the first cass on a yearling bass cho shad in the grass up from the barrel stream. Moving over to the railcar pier with the same lure brought in 3 rock bass (6″,7″,8″) off the end of the pier. Changed to a green/clear cho and back to the grass and caught two smallmouths (11″12″) off the edge of the island while a big pike, probably 31-32″, kept circing me, angry because I was on his turf I guess. On the way out fished past the pier again and caught one more rock bass (8″). Very good night.

Too many jet skis churning up this tiny lake to get any real fishing in.

Take: -

Fished evart in a last resort. Couldn’t stir anything up. Can only assume with the plentiful supply of craw on the shores that the bass only feed after dark when they have an advantage.
